The shaft on my install tool just bent...
...has this been an issue with anyone else?
I was using it to remove my SLP UDP with a puller (and yes, the tool's shaft was threaded ALL the way into the crank), and then it got under tension and noticed it was bending! So I immediately took off the puller... but now I can't use the tool since I can't even remove the install section past the bend in the shaft... Might try to bend it back the best I can, but not sure how I would.
Is there any sort of warranty on this tool? I just purchased it through SDPC around thanksgiving...

You were trying to remove the balancer with it?

yes I was. That's why I thought there was a nice dimple machined into the end of it for a puller to set into...

hahahahahaahaha wow...

So YOU tried to use an INSTALL tool to REMOVE and crank pulley?

Now it's broke and you want to warranty it?

Thats like going to victorias secret and buying some size 2 lengirie for a size 18 chick and then returning asking for a refund with the seams all ripped out

hey man, no need to jump all over me. I was simply asking, no bashing or anything of the sort. Just trying to resolve my issue.

Typically all that is needed for a removal is a bolt to put the puller onto anyway, so I didn't foresee any harm in using the shaft of the puller to use either? Like I said, I even saw there was a dimple there for no other reason than to set the puller center in to... or so I thought apparantly.

and yeah, nice analogy.

All that is really wrong is the shaft is bent. Nothing else is broken, so if no warranty on product, then I was going to just ask if it's possible to get that length of 16 threaded rod with the nut welded on and if so, how much. If not, or too much, I'd probably run to a local fastener store and get my own.

It worked great for the exact same task twice now, removing the pulleys just fine, both stock and SLP UPD.... but, I went to put my motor in and it wouldn't quite fit into the engine bay without hitting firewall or e-fans, so I thought I'd zip off the harmonic balancer real quick to gain some more room. This is when it bent.

We are working something out to get you fixed up. You will either get a PM from myself or from Tyler (dirt track racer). And yes, this tool is only used for install. However, we are here to take care of our customers. We will get you fixed up ShredSled.
