Default ?'s bought a part that's bad, needs to be returned

I bought a LM-1 wide band from "xxxxx", with a 6+ rating on tech. It's a got a bad connection on the board, and not with the cable. I can wabble the plug back and forth, find a sweet spot then it works. If you disturbe it, then it quits. I need to send this back, refunded for the shipping, and I need to cover my *** before it's mailed back.

he has yet to . . . and hasn't been back on since 8:05 . . . so I started taking pics of it . . . flipped it over, and found some tool marks on the screws on the back, so I opened it . . . and what do you know, someone has already tried to repair it, and they did some crummy soddering.

If you can't get ahold of the guy to work it out, your only option may be to file a claim with pay-pal. At the very least it should be very annoying for the guy because I believe they will put a hold on his account until the claim is settled. Best case they will be able to get your money back for you.

+1 for paypal. if you are getting uneasy about the situation, you can get the fire lit by starting just a claim, then if they don't hear from him you can 'escalate' the claim...usually they respond after that

he finally called me this morning at work . . . after he left me his number. He seems to be taking it seriously, and wants it worked out. I'm mailing it back for a refund. He did offer to pay to have it repaired locally, but I declined.

I couldn't wait any longer for one, so I bought a brand new one this afternoon for $307 shipped.
