I thought so too, heck I would not have know anything unless Dave from Yank told me so. Im baffled. I spoke with Bumpers he said that sucked, he was some what appologetic, he even responded in my for sale thread. That I decided to keep the Yank and stick with that stall. So now I pay for trans, and ship to YANK, Dave at Yank tell me it aint theirs... WTF is going on here!

MOD thanks for the help, I do appreciate, now Im counting my chump change...

How did the converter take out your trans? Apart from it being filled with metal from a previous blown transmission, I don't know how it could have killed your tranny.

I suppose im crazy then lol

i thought bumpers was a stand up guy myself..

Also not to take sides but maybe he didnt know what was done to it either, I mean i didnt see the original sale thread but to be honest that jus looks like a trailblazer convertor that has more than likely been restalled..

Best wishes on working things out

The Yank TT series converters Ive installed look exactly like my restalled TB converter but with pretty paint. I know theyre different inside but, that converter looks like the TT2600 I had.

To the OP, you knew it was a used converter and that it needed to be refreshed. It seems really the only problem is whether or not the converter is a yank. Can you get better pictures of the converter? Maybe someone on here has a yank TT converter laying around we can compare to. Bumpers has been on the forums for a long time and has always been a very stand up guy. Thats not to sayt hat good people dont have bad judgement from time to time but I think there is some sort of misunderstanding here at some point.

I'm almost positive that's a P.I. converter.I am looking at it from my phone but,the color behind the blue looks purple-ish.

it is posted pretty clear that it was built by another company. every converter i have seen built by a second company, even if its just a cleaning, was painted their colors. he said it needed to be cut and cleaned so why was it put in the truck without that happening first?

garret is a good guy and even from the post it sounds nothing like he was screwing anyone. what you are describing is exactly as he said. it was a converter used by 2 different people before you so it is pretty used. thats pretty wild about not being able to be used again though...

My yank converter was painted the same exact color when i had it cut and open by a local shop.

Bumpers is a good guy to deal with and I don't think that he intentionally sold you a bad converter. He probably didn't know much more about it than you.
