Default Thoughts on KB 2.6L

I came close to buying a Whipple, but have decided to wait on the KB. Rear inlet, more volume, direct bolt on, apparently cheaper. One of my main concerns was the effeciency at lower boost levels. Too big and the additional rotor size can causes more parasitic loss. At 14-15psi it shouldn't be a problem.

Well....it's a few weeks out. We've all heard that before. I'm more inclined to believe KB since they won't have the legal problems Whipple apparently did.

Oh yeah, did I mention KB is right up the road from me.

So no one is excited about this! Run less boost and produce more hp than the old KB and Whipple. Every rotation of the rotors will provide nearly half a liter more air than the 2.2L KB previously used. It has more displacement than the costlier Whipple too! And it's not oversized, in fact it's better suited for the 5.4L and up. Which brings up another question....

....What will Eaton produce? I bet If they built a 2.6L roots it would be cheap in comparison and possibly a better design than previous generations.

hopefully magnachargers' new blower will compete well with it, i have asked kb when its coming out and i honeslt doubt we see anything soon, they have been saying their intercooled kit is coming out for our trucks for well over a year now and that was suposdly using the 2.2l.

It sounds great, but I'm waiting for numbers before I get all excited about it. We'll see how it does soon I hope.

If your right down the road from them, will you tell them to answer my calls I would have already paid for one, but can't get them on the phone

Good decision on not getting the Whipple, from what I have read they are eating rotors BAD!!! Plus u have to pull the blower to change plugs

It's best to call KB first thing in the morning or 10 times an hour.
