Anybody know the real scoop on Royal Purple Oils? I have heard from several different people that you cant use them in your car unless you its for full time racin duty and not street/strip use?

 

I am pretty sure it can be ran 100% of the time. Not just for racing

 

I am running the purple ice in the antifreeze and running royal purple oin in the engine, i plan on changing the axles to royal purple soon.

 

the api certified oils are just like any other synthetic and will not void any warentys but the racing oils should be used for racing apps only as they are not api certified could void warentys

 

I ran RP in my truck for 15k miles or so before NAPA pissed me off. Now I run Mobil1.

I watched a bit on Horsepower TV a while back, and they dynoed a stock SS camaro. Then changed the engine oil, tranny oil, and rear end grease. They picked up 12 hp just by changing the fluids to RP. Not sure if I wanna throw a BS flag, but it looked legit.

 

IMO, I would only run Mobil 1, I run Mobil 1 oil and tranny fluid, and water wetter in my intercooler, and radiator.
