Default nitrous on a lightning....

hey i have a friend who has a lightning... i thinks its a 99, he installed a nx nitrous kit that he used to have on his corvette 1989 wish worked great but on the lightning it does not, to much gas i think, he used it like 5 times but black smoke came out of the muffler (looked like a diesel lol) i think to much gas righ?? i think its a 2 stage kit, it has to nozzles in the intake, like 2 nitrous lines and 2 fuel lines go in.... any idea what jets he should run with that kit so it would work better? thanx

Wow, first of all, it's very hard to comprehend what you're talking about. Black smoke probably means he is running too rich. Do you know what pills he is using. It all depends on how big of a shot he wants to run. I would suggest he invest in a wideband before spraying again.

Hope its not a stock bottom end. That's too much nitrous if he isnt on built internals. Aside from that, sounds like he needs a wideband. Sounds like its fat but I'd be nervous about pulling much fuel without knowing the A/F

Call NX and ask for the correct jetting. You will need to know what your fuel pressure is. I have seen lightnings chunk rods with just a pulley and tuner, so life expectancy will probably be short.
