Default Lost to a Lightning

I was coming home on the expressway and notice this white Lightning in front of me. I cought up to him and he threw a rev at me and I did the same. I downshifted my truck into second and waited for to honk. On three we both went from a 60 roll at the same time and slowly but gradualy he pulled on me. He pulled about 1-1.5 truck lengths to a little over 90mph. I had a feeling I was going to loose this race since I have have seen 01+ Lighining run consistent mid 13's and some even dip into the low 13's. I knew it was an 01 or newer becuase it had the clear lights. Oh well you can't win them all. It's time for more mods.

Great run TIB, and not a bad loss considering their trucks need to be supercharged to have *****. I raced one with my Iroc last weak, original 5.0 T.P.I, I knew I couldnt win but I still went for it. Like you said you cant win them all, no guts no glory.

No, If that was the case, I would have walked it as I walked a buddys truck that runs 14.4 in the quarter. 01+ Lighnings dyno 340-350 rwhp stock and have personally seen them run in the mid 13 with good launches. These trucks are know to have traction problem and will get 14sec slips under these conditions.

I know of a guy that lives next to were I work (Edinburg, Tx). He has a 2000 GMC 4.8L reg cab, short flat bed, pewter color, with a Denali front. Saw him at the track once he was running with a 1999 or 2000 white Lightning and every single run he would stomp the so called lightning. He was hitting very high 12's to flat 13's while the lightning was on the low to mid 13's all night. I think he was using "laughing gas" cause those wer some good # for a little 4.8/auto.
