Default Lightning Mods???

My cousin just picked up a 2002 L w/5,000 miles on it and he's looking to mod it. I've heard of several mods that everyone does like pulley, chip, intake, etc., but is there a website with specific mod info? I know nothing about these trucks except that they're fast!

Chip, filter, pulley is the most recommended mods to start out with. A 4lb lower, cold air kit and custom tune will give you alot of gain right off the bat. Some recommend the ftvb valve body but i have the line valve mod and am happy with the shifts.

Basic mods would be a 4# lower pulley, FTVB or line mod valve, cold air intake, cat-back exhaust, chip/programmer and tune, ported blower and fluidyne heat exchanger

best bang for your buck, and with the ported blower and heat exchanger it will run cooler and more efficient

I also read a great mag this weekend on L's, there is a spacer that goes in between the blower and lower intake that raises the blower up higher thats good for 20 rwhp, and Johhny L is making a aluminum intake plentum thats good for 2 pounds of boost and up to 50 rwhp on some applications.

Also Dynatech makes full length headers that would help out alot. Just do all that is stated in this thread and make it into a monster.

I think the jury is still out on that. Also, it raises the plenum, not the blower itself

High boost applications. The C&L upper is a fine unit too.

Headers really don't do much until you get into higher hp applications. Ask Jody (Camcojb), he's got a very interesting write up on his web site about it.

Basic stuff:

4 lb lower
CAI
Catback
Programmer

Low 13's/High 12's

Little more fun:

Tbars
FTVB
DR's

High to mid 12's
Lot more fun:
Built motor
KB that Biaaatch

How fast do you want to go?
