Default First time ever at the track.

I finally got my chance to run the truck on the track last Fri at Gateway.I'm a little disappointed though not breaking into the 12s.Then again I had full weight (spare tire, tow hitch, etc) and a full tank.I was running street tires which don't help but no biggie.Although out of 5 runs I lost 1 so that's not bad.Even won somebody in the tower $300. Someone swore up and down a late 80s Iroc would beat me.He ran a 15.929 to my 13.589.But anyway this is my best run >

Me New Mustang GT 5spd
R/T- .842 .774
60'- 2.152 2.504
1/8- 8.710 9.846
MPH- 83.33 75.54
1/4- 13.468 14.960
MPH- 103.14 96.14
The best part of the whole night was when a buddy of mine (Dennis) wanted to run me.He's always been faster because he's into Camaros and GTOs with more money than me to spend. The announcer came track side and talked to us.I told him it's a grudge match.Anyway Dennis has a 05 GTO with exhaust, intake, and DRs as far as I know with a 6spd and here's the results
Me Dennis
R/T- .993 .477
60'- 2.236 2.405
1.8- 8.846 9.368
MPH- 82.94 80.53
1/4- 13.632 14.208
MPH- 102.50 101.79

Hehe, nice runs. Good kill on the Goat too. Play with tire preasures and heat them up some more, I'd bet you can cut a sub 2.0 on streets. You've got a .20 or better in it easy.

Not bad for your first time out. I'm guessing there's a bit left in it looking at your mods though. Like Rob said cut your 60' down and it should be a bit quicker

If you're going to get some sticky tires, just pop for slicks. From what I've seen and personal experiance, DR's don't do a whole lot over some good hot streets, lol.

From what I've heard off NLOC I might not have the power needed for slicks and I know I don't have anywhere near the money for slicks and skinnies.

Nah, you've got the power for it. And you don't need skinnies, just some slicks for the rear. They could even be used and you'd be better off. I don' think that slicks are much more expensive than DR's IIRC........

But don't I have to buy special wheels for slicks?
