All years are good years. Run a check and make sure the intercooler recall was done on it. More than likely it has been. Is this one you have a line on, like are commited to buying, or just one you found?

If at all possible, try to look for an 01 and up L. They fixed the I/C problem, added 20hp, and I believe 10 lb ft of torque. They also changed the gears from 3.55's to 3.73's. There were a couple other changes too. Stock all 99-04 blowers will sound the same, but add a cold air intake, and a 4lb lower, and you can really hear her scream!

Just what JOEBOB SAID try to find a newr one, the older ones had a prob with the i/c, but despite the difference they ran pretty much the same. Like I said before my buddy went 13.7 at 100.00 with a bone stock 00 L. They defently get it done

Yeah, if you're wanting one and aren't locked into any deals on that 99, look for an 01 up. 01's have been going for btwn 17-21 k from what I've seen on the boards lately. They're all whiney little bitches.

Hope you hate your checking account, because it'll hate you if you get a Lightning. It's hard to keep these things stock.

I've had a 99 and now a 03, and I enjoyed the 99 just as much, except for the color(black is a bitch). Both trucks ran about the same when stock, but I cant really compare moddified times because I had more mods done to my 03 the first month I had it than I did to my 99 in the 2.5 years I had it.
