Been thinking of changing cams in my truck to a more turbo specific cam.. found a TU0 SpeedInc cam for a good deal, would i even see a gain worth the time and effort of the swap?

My cam now... 212/218 .522/.529 114

TU0 cam is 216/216 .561/.561 114

I think you will see a pretty decent gain, probly 40-50ish rwhp

 

man, if you think it will be even close to that it would be worth a few hours labor, i was thinking 20 hp or less??

 

If you are running stock heads I wouldn't bother...

 

I was thinking about swapping a tu1 in my 5.3L

 

Yeah its just stock heads... I just don't want to go through everything for 15hp LOL... I plan on eventually building another iron 5.7 or 6.0 so may just wait till then.

 

Yeah that cam is the one I was thinking on my 6.0 build but that TU0 may be fine for the 5.3 and a future 6.0 build.

 

Anymore Turbo guys got opinions....

 

are you buying that cam brand new? if your going to pay full price i would look at the cam you guys or talking about or talk to stock48 and have him grind you one of his infamous cams

 

NOT a turbo guy but adding an intercooler would be cheaper
