they are all the same based engine, they swap out the intake manifolds expecting that the LS6 intake will flow much better in the higher rpms. the lm7 manifolds starts crapping out right before 6k so many swap intakes and im pretty sure the same is true about the 6.0 but not near as bad. i cant remember but i think the flow is pretty near the same for the LS6 and LQ4 but people want better flow up top for their high revving cams

ok igot the reason why they swap intakes, but just not the reasoning behind using a ls6 instead of an ls2 intake. one would think that the ls2 would be a simple swap. ya know the same size motor the same bolt holes and stuff like that but idk.. no clue... just thinking.....

when you swap to an ls6 intake manifold - car intake manifold, the front accessories are what has to be adapted to

exactly, the water neck must be bent and brackets must be changed not to mention changes to fuel rails and stuff if it needs to be clean looking

the ls6 has better flow numbers than the ls2 there are a couple threads on it. the guys that have gone with the ls6 have got good benefits from down low all the way up top. and all the truck manifolds are the same and yeah the crap out in upper rpm and after so many hp the kinda limmit air flow on n/a applications that is. boosted, well just look at parish.
