Im now in the process of finding the right cam for my ls1 build so far I've bought ported 862 heads, 3200 stall, and headers I've been looking at the comp 224/230 @.050 588/595 114lsa cam just wondering what everybody opinion is on this cam. And can I reuse my stock lifters?

 

that cam may be a little too large for that converter. what is this going in a rc, cc? what gears are you running? yes you can reuse your stock lifters, however if you are pulling heads it just makes sense to replace them. then you have a new cam surface to a new lifter surface

 

its a 90 scsb and im pretty sure i have 4/10s

 

My brother has that can in a rcsb 5.3 with a 3000 converter and 3.73s

 

I think it'll work great. Would it like more converter? Yes. Does it need it? No.

Is this a daily driver? If the answer si no then you can probably afford a looser stall, but if it is, or you still want good street manners then the 3200 will be fine.

It wills still come off the line strong. Besides if you have a 2wd you can only leave the line so hard before traction/suspension limit you. Why not make the truck more efficient on the big end.
