post pics of the cam and other damage. i don't see any thread locker either, that stuff works its way up threads as you thread them in, even a few drops would show up on the bolt that's laying there if you used enough. the other one that the chain is resting on looks to be just backed out, not snapped, if they all snapped wouldn't that sprocket be falling off?

no they all snapped th gear isnt wear it should be at all in this pic its just laying there the bolt was still in the gear somehow. this is what im almost glad about cause it might be best for the situation to not cause any more damage than it did. ill get pics. i havent got a chance to make it to the truck yet. ill get some tomorrow morning asap.

K so i finally got some pics for you guys and i just took one of the worst lifter all the others are just kinda scratched nothing near the this one lol. the cam was just the lobe that was touching this lifter the rest of it was fine and obviously the cam gear wear the bolts sheared off. there is a gouge in the block almost directly between the two #1 cylinder lifters that is worrying me now. all lifter passages looked fine.

Yea i see what your talking about but the how the bolts sit they it seems they didnt move at all i took a pic of that also if you can see how the two were sitting in the gear. and it still doesn't explain why that lifter would have just been completely fubar'ed

thats what i plan on doing and i have another motor laying around im gonna pull the cam gear and bolts and oil pump off of. just scared that gouge in the motor might effect it some. the motor obviously has little bits of metal in it so im gonna get that out of there and go from there. i wanna call lkq and tell them its fucked but at the same time i'd rather just rock this block as is.
