What could I get for my 5.3
#1
Sup guys, trying to make a decision here. I want a 6.0 lq4 but don't have the extra money to buy it and build it so I can still be mobile. But I guess I'll just sell my 5.3 and get the lq4, but I don't kno how much I could get for my motor,
I have a 2002 5.3 that I rebuilt myself. Rebuilt it at right around 100k.
New rod bearing
New main bearing
All new gaskets
All new piston rings
Ls6 oil pump
862 head milled down .015 down w/ PAC 1518 spring
7.400 hardened pushrods
Regrind ls1 hot cam 218/228 .550.550 112lsa
Doesn't smoke, doesn't leak, runs fine
Motor has 2000 miles on it
Here's a video of the motor running
Cammed 5.3 yukon idle - YouTube

the trouble is that you have realized yourself that you would rather have a 6.0 than this motor, most others would agree.
On the flip side, this motor is freshly rebuilt, and has a performance cam. A junkyard 6.0 with tons of miles will be around $1k, so maybe your motor is worth the same.
I would list it on Craigslist for $1k and see what hits you get.
