Yeah - I'll double check mind but I'm pretty sure this was my issue -

Was running LS7s in the old motor but will run Johnson 2110s in the new one. Ran the oil in my 383 Stroker on advise from the builder - too thick or ?

If you talk to Johnson they will advice against thick oil with their lifters. They weren't crazy about me running 10/40 for break in. Just an FYI

When mine had similiar symptoms was from trunion kit, but used stock bolts which bottom threaded hole out in the head thus not clamping rocker down tight enough. To naked eye everything looks kosher, and you can even get to tq to spec. Switched to comp bolts after fixed rocker worked like a champ (stock l92 except springs). Still ran a 12.0 on 7 cylindars in a tbss though. Sounded kind of like a misfire

I'll run 10/40 for initial break in the go to Gibbs BR30 till I hit 500 miles. I plan to run a 5/30 or 10/30 in it ultimately.

Spoke with Joe @ Johnson and he did indeed say 10W/40 at the heaviest. I'll probably run straight 30 VR1 after break in.

Yep, just a heads up for those reading this. I forget who I usually talk to. Very nice guy and informative, I called once for a simple question and 30m later I was better informed. Great customer service.
