Draining and disconnecting the catch cans from the intake didn't seem to make any difference. Still the same after 40- 50 miles of driving.

Fixed mine. Inadequate vent from surge tank to main tank. Ran another hose to the highest point on the main tank. The tank is only about 6" tall where the sender/pump is located. All other connections are through the sender plate.
