You will have to tune for any cam you swap into.
As far as gas milage goes...horsepower costs. You don't have to give up a lot of economy but honestly if you wanting to make more power you should be willing to sacrafice a little. You don't see many 500hp prius's around and there's a reason for it

I put a 205/212, .540/.540 114+4 Cam Motion cam into my 2003 Avalanche that gave it 15-20 RWHP all over and a nice punch right off idle. No tune needed. Lingenfelter has nearly the exact cam (LS1-GT2), and with a 116.5 CL, it would have a stock idle.

I've got something different. And yeah new to the site as well. Sorry bout that. I also have the 5.3, but i have a single cab stepside 2wd '04. I'm wanting a lill different. I kinda have it planned out. Cold air kit, Pacestter longtubes, Yank 2800 stall converter, custom XXX tune, N2O 75 shot wet, and with the cam... I'm stuck. I found a cam out of a LS6 car but its 224/224 duration. And my builder said i wouldn't gain power until 3k rpms, then more then likely roast the tires. So what cam would be a nice one? Someone mentioned a Comp 218/222 but i dunno the lift. Thanks for the help.
