i got a price for a cam package installed and everything but i have been reading some post about double valve springs i dont know exactly what cam specs im going to go with i know it will be a comp cam but not over the .600 lift which is wear im seeing everybody say you dont need double springs till after that. So they are PRC double valve springs what is the plus and minus compared to a good set of single springs? Also i already have exhaust but i want too take the cat off and just weld a peice of pipe in place not for power but for the sound i have 40 series flowmaster 2 chamber and just think they sound better without cats my question is will it affect anything until i get cam install with tune to delete the 02 sensor from comp reading it after cat and no i dont want too buy a high flow cat low on funds here lol thanks for any responses

Singles are definetely quieter. Duals with give you a little bit if the "sewing Machine" sound (not that there is anything wrong with that...).
As Bill mentioned, there is some redundancy running duals in case of failure. IMO, unless your going to big boost or a ubber-high/aggressive cam down the road, singles are fine. If your low on funds, go single. The $$$ difference between Comp 918's and Patriot Gold Duals is about $80 +/-.

I will be installing the prc doubles ... My cam isn't gonna be huge but I feel that the springs will last longer if they aren't close to the maximum lift. The PRC's are good to .650 so they should last forever in my application.
