Default valve springs

WTF is with the comp 918 springs? I am getting a difference of opinion, some say good some say bad, Was there a bad run on production? If so do you think they got them right? Im the type that builds it once and forget about it, dont want to install a bunch of substandard sh...

they are safe to run. IMO They redesigned them over a year ago and they are good to roll now. Both Thunder Racing and Texas Speed say that they are good to go and they are both very reputable companies!
Throw'em on and forget about them

What setup are you going to be running?
The 918's are good to .625 lift. shouldnt have a problem if the cam is real outrageous go with the 921's

yep same here. they are great springs i run them with my 228R cam

The improved 918's have a peened surface, bright and clean....not a dark color and blue stripe

I remember seeing a couple of pics of the new silver 918's broken in half....I'm still weary of Comp's springs, re-designed or not.

for christ's sake people....RUN THE SDPC springs AKA PAC 1218s....SDPC sells them for $122 ($40 less than 918s)...PAC themselves sells the same spring for $230!

Sometimes people have a problem with "groupthink" on here. I plan on running these when I swap out my 80,000 mile 918s.

+1 will be runnin the SDPC springs when i do my swap.
