Is using L92 heads on my 6.0 a good idea ??

Default Is using L92 heads on my 6.0 a good idea ??

I have a 99 2wd extended cab Silverado,4,500 lb's.With a 2005 LQ9 6.0 engine,longtubes,compcam 208/212 dur,554/558 lift,and occasional 150hp nos shot,built tranny stock torque converter,it runs 13.7 at 102mph NA,and 12.4 at 112mph on 150 shot,getting ready to install a 3,200 Yank stall,keep in mind i use this truck to haul my car to the track,Would some L92 heads be to much flow or even right for my setup,may need to go bigger cam also if needed,on stock cube 6.0,with 4,500 pounds ??? Any help Thanks

There is a great article in Super Chevy Nov 09 that just goes crazy over these L92 heads. You can really upgrade the valve train and intake to us these babies.

the L92's are very good flowing heads straight out of the box... you will need to run a different intake manifold as well... with that 3200 yank, i would throw in a little bit bigger cam. it should really wake it up

Cool thanks guys,what is the best intake to use with those heads,best bang for the buck,without changing my accessories.

They have potential to make some really great power without huge camshafts or sacrificing your street manners! Since your LQ9 is a flat-top piston, you could get some decent compression out of them with a little milling. Stock L92's paired with our 225/230 camshaft have proven a very good combo thus far!

best intake hmmm how about a 102mm lsxr FAST intake BUT if the cost it so much then go with the l76, BUT get it ported, or stick with the truck intake which is still not a bad intake

What kind of diet did you put your truck on to get it down to 4500lbs? Good job

estimating mine at 4k

and really hadnt removed anything but leaf springs and stock seats for race seats. it weighed 4250 fully dressed

Its 100% stock weight,i have actually added weight ventshades LOL Havent taken anything off it,it was actually 4450 without me
