higher compression with a proper cam will get you low end.

higher compression without boost=good. as long as there's no P 2 V clearance issues. but if your set on lower compression i think cometic will make customized gaskets on request

My engine builder just toid me about that possibly being an option earlier. So we are going to look at that when the motor goes together.

Do the custom Cometics MLS gaskets have the same issues as the off the shelf ones? I have just read a lot of bad things about their gaskets and such.

cometic makes one of the best gaskets out. what bad things have you heard?

just put a light coat of copper spray on them and bolt them down according to torque specs

Check into the gaskets for the LS9. They may be more cc than the stock LQ4 one's. They are also a 5 layer.

I spoke with the guy putting the machining the motor and all today and Cometic makes a .065, he said he has used them alot and has never had any trouble out of them. So it looks like I have found my solution. Using that gasket and having the pistons even with the deck I have reached my target CR of 10.9 so I am just going to run them provided the measurement on the piston is correct or close
