swapping parts between LQ9 and LS3..
#1
So i'm thinking about putting a rotating assembly or new shortblock in my camaro. that being said, whats the difference between my ls3 and ly6 displacement wise? is it just stroke? if so would my ly6 like my ls3 rods and pistons?
also, im trying to find ways to beef up my ly6 while staying on 87 octane cuz thats all i can get when im at work in the bush. would i benefit from a mild vvt cam on 87 as well? any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

same crank and same rods same stroke The lq9 has 4.00 pistons and the ls3 has 4.065 pistons ( if i'm correct). I would keep the LQ9 pistons and bottom end and do a cam and milled heads and a good tune would add some umff to it.

also, since ill be upgrading my injectors on my ls3 would it be worthwhile to put my 52 lb injectors from my ls3 in my LY6 if i go cam and heads on 87 octane?
