The LS6/3 springs are supposed to be good up to .570 lift max for binding. But you also have to consider the lobe ramp rate is more aggressive than those factory cams. Since his engine probably wouldn't see more than 6k rpm or 5psi boost, he'd likely get by with LS3 springs; but I'd still use 1218s for a little extra margin.

with those cams being smaller why not something like a LS9 cam or the SDPC ls9 Pluss cam? (216 239 0.600” 0.600” 120(+4))

Because he posted this in a different thread:
"I have a 2001 2500HD CCSB 6.0 LQ4 towing a 38 ft 5th wheel. it is Magnuson supercharged mp112hh w/4.88 gears. i had a 26 ft trailer 8k and it pulled it great. Now it is a 12k 5th wheel. I need more help between 2000-3500."

That's a pretty low range to hit. Thus need to keep an early IVC, the intake duration very conservative, and rely more on additional lift to improve cylinder fill. As a matter of fact, he could benefit from bigger valves and bowl blending of the head to improve flow without increasing overall runner volume.

The LS9 Powermax Plus wouldn't start picking until about 3000+rpm. It be a good cam from 3500 to about 6200rpm in a 6.0L blower truck though. Or if someone was happy with the a stock truck low end torque, and was adding a blower and cam at the same time.

Thanks for your suggestions.. I have stock headers/cats to magnaflow dual in 3"/Single Out 3.5" to stock 3.5" stock tail pipe. I am looking to go to DI/DO next. Dont want to make it louder though. It gets loud after having your foot in it all day towing something heavy. I am definitely looking for a cam with benefits under the curve. At freeway speeds 4th gear is 2600 and 3rd gear is 3200 rpm and keep it 4k and under going over the Cascade Mountains in 2nd at 50.

Been away for a bit, bought a new Yamaha TTR230 trail bike.. Getting back into motorcycle trail riding before i get too old!
