For those of you that made the change did you have to change push rods?

We need a lil more information on the swap so we can answer you correctly. What heads did you swap and mainly were they milled?

Sup Curt, long time no see, this is Bretts friend Drew.....

I will be going with the CNC'd l92 heads on my Escalade.Ive got a hookup on complete truck intakes(injectors,90mm tb,sensors, gaskets,COMPLETE) and complete l92 heads, everything brand new for around $850 shipped.

I sent my l92's to TEA for there Stg1 porting. They outflow any other manufactures l92's and they are CHEAP at $1100.Not to mention several guys are making over 500rwhp in mild NA setups.Id imagine that with your setup on kill, youd be over 1200rwhp if you have a turbo/IC that can flow the air...

If you saw these l92's in person, youd be shocked they were stock small block heads!!f u wanna have a look at a set before they go on an engine, gimme a shout and well meet up.

The heads I took off were stock, not milled. The heads I'm putting on are Edlebrocks not milled.

Hey Drew, those sound like some nice heads.

Are the decks thicker on the aftermarket heads Curt? I had to get new (longer push rods) when I switched to All Pro heads.

Yep, they are thicker...I'll have to get a push rod length checker.

I hope you went with some p&p'd 245s  (And yes, substantially thicker deck on those, so you'll likely end up with new push rods).

On my 420 the normal 7.4 PRs worked fine with my 245 edelbrocks from WCCH. I believe the thicker deck is internal, otherwise if it actually pushed the total height of the head higher off the deck of the block you would have intake alignment problems.
