I just ordered the tune from Allen yesterday. After I get it running I'll take it over to him and let him do a live tune to get everything dialed in.

I'm also going to have my current tune(w4me) updated for a comparison

The temp. Like a number 7,8,9,......is hotter. Allen tuned my truck with 35 degrees of timing and in the winter it would detonate, so I put a colder plug in it and cured this. Then in the summer if I kept the #6 in, it would run fat so in goes the hotter plug(tr55's) to accomodate the temp change. Does this make any sense??? Not being an *** or anything......LOL!

The theory makes sense...I'm just not familiar enough with the gen III plugs to know the lingo.

Well, I went to S.A. and got the tune in person and this is what he told me he put in it. All I know is that a getting a tune in person is by far the best way to go if you can get on in person !!! It run like a bat out of hell!! Cody said that my truck is faster than his old 5.3 with a cam and it being and xcab also. I haven't installed anything yet in the engine. I just ordered my flex plate, 3800 verter, DS, locker and diff cover on thursday. All will be here mid next week!!!!!!

Colby, NGK's are stock in some of these motors. When I replaced mine (which I didn't need to do) NGK on one side and Delco on the other. I would think depending on your tune the TR55 would be fine, pick em up at Oreilly. You can look up the part number on their web site.

I think I was running around 30* timing until recently when it started to get hot, and had to have my tuner back it down to stop the pinging until it gets cool again.

Default Part Numbers

Here are the part numbers for the sparkplugs

TR-55 #3951
TR-6 #4177

Another option instead of the TR-55, is the Autolite 106.
