Default SLP ZL402 info

I've been quoted to have this build done and just looking for anyone who has experience with these guys or recommendations. The other option I'm considering was a custom build-up based on the same LQ9 block. Prices will be similar (~$70/hp) as will power production (~525rwhp with Radix). Only difference is that the SLP is ready to start when I am, while the custom will be a VERY slow process. Also, the 2 disagree whether the rear end will have to be upgraded. R/

I heard of the SLP 402 uses pistons with a really thin deck thickness (for lack of better terms ) There was a guy on LS1tech.com who blew a piston on this and SLP didnt warrant it. He was pissed. He was saying that it was so thin that it broke under normal driving conditions so there was no FI or Nitrous involved. I think SLP is overpriced and after i heard that, there is no way in hell i would drop that much money on something that wasnt fully warranted and with shitty customer service. Build up an LQ9 with some forged dished pistons. JMO

Ive heard some bad customer service stories as well. Also, no skirt on the pistons due to stroke and wrist pin is up in the rings so they tend to knock/use oil is another I've been told. R/
