Default Shopping list for 5.3 L33 7-7.5k rpm's

This is going in a 1000kg's car so torque is not needed low down

So I want to buzz it right round to 7-7.5k rpm

I was planning on a MS3 cam kit or TFS stage 4 and arp rod bolts

I know I need springs, pushrods retainers, but that should come already suited for the cam with the kit.

I got a ls2 intake and 78mm throttle body already.

Im new to these engines so im asking is there any other weak points I need to upgrade?

Thanks

Alex

I'd probably shift it a 7000rpm, and since you are getting arp rod bolts you will be fine. Some guys shift 7000rpm on stock rods, but its not recommended to everyone lol. Most guys use the stock timing chain, but I would probably put a new stronger chain on it just to be safe if you are looking at shifting 7000rpms and the old chain has a lot of miles on it.

These engines are built pretty strong.

That's good to know.

Being in such a light car I doubt I will be at high rev's for long.

So all there is to do is check the timing chain tension, and maybe upgrade it.

Are the rockers ok at that rpm?

Beehive or double springs?

Would a MS3 be fair well suited for my needs?

I would also like to add abit of nitrous in the future.

Thanks

Alex

Stock rockers are fine, only change them if they have a **** ton of miles. Get dual springs for a MS3.

That MS3 would be great for a 2200lb car. Is it going to be an automatic or manual car?
