I Had A Scat Crank And Rods In My 4.6l Mustang (i Know) And Sprayed The **** Out Of It. Nothing Ever Broke. I Had About 35000 Miles On The Crank And Rods Before I Sold It. Very Good Quality Looking Forged Parts.

They have made good stuff for many years. I would think it is right up there with the Eagle products in price and quality.
Lunati makes the best kit IMHO but you will pay for it. Unless you are building a high tech race motor the Scat-Eagle products are totally fine.
PS I used the Eagle kit and had no problems at all. If you install a 4" crank into your LS1 aluminum block you might need a touch of clearance around the bottom of the cylinder bores else it is a drop in affair.

Something you guys out to know about the Scat products... Some of their cranks cranks are horribly out of balance, it is as if the front and rear counterweights are out of place, I have literally had to cut parts of the counterweights off and install Malory on the opposite side.... now if I could have just twisted the counterweights!! The cranks most often want weight removed from thin air... In short what I am saying is, the money you save at the time of purchase may go into an expensive balance job.. Now balancing an Eagle crank is much easier..
Just my 2 cents..

Although I haven't had any experience with scat products I have heard the same thing about scat stuff from a few people. i would save up a lil more and go with an eagle setup.

Scat & Eagle are good products. While getting estimates it seemed universal with Scat & Eagle. I was told that there would be an extra charge to balance my assembly because these cranks are usually difficult. They had to take a lot of weight off of my crank. My engine builder told me it took a whole day to balance my rotating assembly.

we'll the scat and eagle are the same price at the same place so i guess i'll go with the eagle i plan on adding my turbo to this also. and i didn't know you had any clearance issues with the ls1 and 4" crank. what about the 4.8 would it be better to bore the 4.8 out to 5.7 bore or go with the alluminum ls1?? thats something else i meant to ask.
