Roller Rockers Arms
#1
I Have a 04 Silverado with a 5.3. I want to install a set of none adjustable 1.85 rockers. From Procomp. I found them on ebay. I need to know If I need to do anything to the valves covers? valves springs. heads??? on comps rockers you need to remove the baffle from the valve covers?? any help?? I also want to change my intake. I can get one of a 06-09 Trailblazer SS LS2 Then I can run a 90 mm throttle body. Can any one tell me something about the Edelbrock Pro-Flo XT LS intake manifold. witch one will give the most HP. the engine is stock. for the K&N intake. any suggestion on mufflers? for this truck? I would like to keep it Quiet.

You will prob have to mod the inside tops of the covers.. Not a worth while mod to do IMO. Your not going to pick up much by swapping over to a 90 mm tb.. What is the full truck specs, engine ect?? I would start in other areas before what you have listed.. Headers/ pcm ect//

I can tell you if you are serious about doing the intake, that one you mentioned stock won't really net you a gain with just those roller rockers. There is an article over on a trailblazer ss forum of a few R&D guys doing modifications to the plenum and port matching (not hogging the whole thing out, that kills velocity!) the runners to the cylinder heads netting a gain over the stock TBSS intake (This requires you to separate the top half of the plenum to get the gains they have posted) and to have them do this they were talking some serious coin. I believe the numbers were in the low 20's for the gains posted. Otherwise, after reading through the various opinions on this board it seems you would be best served sticking with your stock truck manifold.

Read read read.... Search button is your friend
Good place to start, though, is headers/exhaust and determining if you want a cam or not. If not, get a dyno or quality mail-order tune. If you want a cam, determine if your truck is going to be a daily or track truck and what kind of driving you do.

ADVANCED search option or go to each thread and click Search this Section on the top right of the first thread.
Best way to get good info is to search specific sections for what you want.
Consensus is if you want to buy Roller Rockers, just give the money to a homeless guy. That should give you about the same gain.

I don tknow about any gains because I never ran this motor before the rockers, but they do look nice LOL... sometimes I have to pull the valvecover just to stare for a minute, then put it back together...
but in all honesty, sounds like you've got alot of reading to do yet. and WELCOME!!!!
