Default question about valvesprings

sup fellas, been awhile since ive been on here, well anyways i have a 0 mile ls1 going in the truck hopefully within the next month, anyways im going to wait until i hit about 500 miles to put the cam in. i want to put in the partiot springs and hardened pushrods in the engine now as it sits. im almost positive i wouldnt have any problem doing this with the stock cam, am i correct? guess my question is can i run aftermarket valvesprings and pushrods with the stock cam with no problem? thx fellas

I cant think of any reason why not. You should do the cam while it's out also.

The aftermarket springs will work ok with the stock cam.
IMO save yourself a bucnh of work and put the new cam in now. If the new engine isn't already put in the truck it's a good bit easier to install the cam and springs on an engine stand.

Good luck,

Richard

Put the cam in now Charles, if the motor is bad it will fail with either cam.

Put the new cam in before installing. The warranty will still be alright

but could he damage the cam if the motor is not right??? I feel you, do one thing at a time...then you can track down problems easier. And on the duals, my tuner said that the springs I used, instead of the ZO6 ones he told me to use, can cause some false knock, I dont know if that was happening but we were having some trouble getting the best out of the truck, it runs great, just not in its sweet spot yet.
