I was quoted $1500 for an engine swap so $400 bucks is a steal.

If you are a half ton then you will need some parts for the tranny swap. Speed Engineering http://www.speed-eng.com makes a kit for the 80e swap.

I paid 400.00 for the engine swap which turned out to be a real deal as there is always more to it than you plan on, also included a cam, push rods and valve spring swap.

Just keep looking you can get 6.0L with less than 20000 miles for less than $1500 to your door. And you should be able to fine a 4L80e for less than $800.

I paid $600 for a 2003 LQ4 with under 25K mi. on it, and $1150 for a 06 4L80 with 10miles on it. Prices include shipping too.

Take your time and wait for the deals to come to you, I got both on eBay.
