Default Prc stage 2.5 5.3 & ls6 heads,,,need feedback

Ok so, need some feedback from anyone running PRC stage 2.5 5.3 or LS6/243 heads. Ive been tinkering with my truck for about a 1yr now, after a few bolt ons and tune the 180k 2002 5.3 is putting 271/297 to the floor. H/C/I is next but im still undecided on parts. I was gonna pick up some Advanced Induction 243 heads second hand but they were sold. I wanted those and a TBSS intake. Now Im looking into PRC heads,,,my current setup is as follows. AIRAID CAI, PS LT's, ORY, MAGNAFLOW 14149 (everything is 3"), stock 4l60 and 3.42s. EFANS are coming in and will be on within the next few days. Anyone thats running a similar setup with H/C combo PLEASE need some feedback and anyone with the PRC heads. Every bit of info is welcomed.

the PRC 5.3 vs PRC ls6 heads have slight differences
open up two browsers and look side by side. the ls6 ones flow just a touch more and I believe the valve size is a few thousands larger
the 5.3 ones are 862 casting and the ls6 ones are 243 castings
both will be great, personally i'm getting the LS6 ones, they're not much more so I dont mind

Yea im goin with the 243 heads for sure, i was just wondering if anybody had a similar set up and wat #'s they saw and gained..

Im stilling searching for the tbss intake tho, and from what ive read the nnbs 5.3 come with the tbss mani but instead of running a 90mm tb, they have a 87mm. so im assuming a "tbss" mani would be a little more $ just because of it coming off an ls2 and im better off searching for a 5.3 silvy manfi...if anybody could clarify this it would be awesome,,maybe even some part #'s

you will loose some low end tq with ported heads and nnbs intake manifold, but you will gain a lot up top.

Something to think about.... you could get a used 6.0 block for the same or less money as the heads. Your at a stage where all your bolt-on will work for a 6.0L as well
typical gains
nnbs manifold - 15rwhp
Cam- 25-35 rwhp
heads -20rwhp for stock cam 30-40rwhp with cam and intake.

Not sure of the year model the OP is running but 862 vs 243 could have significant impact on performance. If its 06 or older go with 862.

I am making great power with the prc 799 heads. Dont worry about low end torque as with a high stall converter all that gets thrown out the window. Plus a 6L with h/c/i and high compression you will have plenty torque.
