Default PRC Heads

I've been planning a head/cam swap for a few months now and I've nailed down the cam I'm going with but not the heads. I'm going with the TR220/220 112.

Now for the heads, I originally was just gonna use a used set of 243's and have them milled and maybe ported but I figured all that would run about as much as a new set would cost me. So I'm probably gonna go with a set of PRC's from TSP and probably stage 2.5, but is there a big difference between the 5.3's and the ls6's or which one would be better for me?

Ive been doing some searching like yourself, and ive decided that the PRC 220cc 5.3L Stage 2.5 CNC Ported Heads are my best bang for the buck.

The LS6 heads arent an option on the 5.3 small bore, its recommended 4.00"+ bore if i'm not mistaken?

I dont think you would be making a bad choice with the PRC's.

Just my .02 cents of course

you have a 5.3, don't you? if so, the 5.3 heads are going to be more suiteable for your setup, as the ls6 heads aren't milled. just ported and bigger valves. you'll lose compression with the ls6 heads, but you'll raise it to 10.75:1 with the 5.3 stage 2.5 heads.

the ls6 are as follows.. again, i don't have the exhaust flow numbers.
Valve Lift Intake
.100" 72
.200" 149
.300" 205
.400" 255
.500" 287
.600" 307
.625" 310

The 10.75 CR is based on the 5.7, not a 5.3. I have a 228R and the PRC 2.5 heads. I don't remember the cumbustion chamber size. Anyone know what it is?
