Default Opinions on mods for my truck

I have a 97 c/k with a 305. I am thinking about putting a 260/270 Duration and a .429/.452 lift. It will have a split side exhaust, shorty headers, and intake on it also. I was wondering if anyone would help with an estimate in hp gain. It already has 220hp in stock trim. I am looking to make it a sleeper. I was told it is the only cam that will work because of the computer.

That's probably the advertised duration for the cam. But max lift on the vortec heads is .470-.475. Now those are for the 5.7L L31 vortec v8. The 305 is the L30 I believe the have the same max lift but samller heads.

The biggest cam that was recommended to a guy by Comp Cams for a 96+ 305 was the 212/218 and that was semi-pushing it with the stock heads. But at the end the cam worked out great.
