Default Opinions on this 5.3 cam?

Hey guys, trying to do a little research for friend about cam's. He has a 99 with the 5.3. Someone pointed me in the direction of a comp cam with these specs:
222/224 - .566/.568 w 1.7 rocker - 112 LSA
Lingenfelter says this cam will make nice power from 1800-6800 RPM. I was thining around a 2800 converter or so as well. We want somthin that will be drivable but has a nice idle to it and sounds beastly! Basically as aggressive as we can go while keeping it a daily driver.
So what do you guys think? If your not a fan of this one can you try to point me in a better direction?

Sounds like a good cam for a lighter truck, reg cab 2wd. Not sure what your buddy has. Trever1t had a 224/224 in his 5.3 z71 when it was NA, and I think it was a bit sluggish off the line with a 3k stall. For a heaver truck I would stick with around 220/220.

The lobe spacing has as much to do with low end TQ as the duration as well as overlap for low end TQ - less overlap the better...

He has a regular cab short beb 4x4, but its lifted. He has a 6" lift and some 315's. We're just lookin for the best overall cam to make the thing faster in the 1/4 and keep it drivable. The thing is basically his daily driver, but he is a power nut too.
Keep the suggestions comin!

216/220 on a 114lsa. would probably do great in that app.

A little more stall would have been better. I could only manage 2.2x 60'.

im with tx on this one. somethin in the 216/220 range on a 114lsa. or on a 112 if you want a somewhat lumpy idle. if you want an aggressive idle, you will want to go bigger, but that moves the power way up in the rpm range, unless your friend doesnt mind a 3200 + stall for a heavy truck.
