If yours goes colder (since mine is in the kitchen and mom would kill me if I gave all her food freezer burn) pick up a quart of 0W-30 and 5W-30 and do the test for me.
Ambient temps would HAVE to be cooler or you would never be able to make ice in your freezer. And yea that is what it is set to but I have a thermometer in both the Freezer Inside my house the Chest Freezer, the Meat locker and there are actually 2 in the Refer trailer. And as a factor in the temp you have to remember that when you open the door the freezer will damn near instantly loose 5* there fore if you were to open the door you would instantly be above freezing and put the contents in a prime position to accumulate mold.
Freezer burn is not just related to cold it also has to do with moisture/air and exposure to the cold as in no bags ETC.

TO keep this on topic in my 3500 and any diesel I run Plus-50 0W-40. And in the S-10 I am running 5W-30 Synthetic.

Interesting, How do you know this?

Inch I forgot to mention that this weekend since it was freezing I went and looked at a jug of my plus 50 that was sitting out side compared to one that was around 60* I did not notice a lot of difference in the viscosity. And when I say Freezing we are talking over night I had ice in all of my water tanks that did not have the heaters built in.
