Default Oil and filter change under the hood. No more jack or jackstands.

Installed a oil filter relocation kit on my Silverado. I moved the battery to where the OEM air filter used to be on the pass side and put the oil filter relocation kit in the batteries old location. I also bought a Liquivac(2 gal.) to pump out the oil. Now my oil and filter changes consist of raising the hood to swap my filters(I have the dual filter relocation kit) removing the dip stick and placing the Liqivac tube in place of the dip stick all the way to the bottom of the pan. After a few pumps on the Liquivac to create vacuum the old oil is sucked out and held in the 2 gal. resevoir. No more jack, jackstands or creeper needed to crawl under the truck to drain the oil pan or remove the oil filter. No more oil spills in the driveway when the wind starts blowing while the oil is draining out of the oil pan. This is so easy I may even change my oil before it needs it.

HMM, sounds easy although it adds complication to the oil system

I never had a problem with sliding under the truck and pulling the filter and plug, only takes a couple min.

Seems like trying to pump the oil out all the time would end up leaving some sludge to build up in the pan too. Plus you don't get to check the magnet on the drain plug for possible problems.

I agree with you, I would rather get under and do it on the ground.
