Default No oil pressure?

I got no oil pressure . Last week I was driving around the valley droping shet off. Got home parked the truck for a few hours till dinner time. I jumped in the truck started it up "No oil pressure" on the cluster . I tried a few hours later and the same thing happened and truck starts to chatter.
I had the truck towed the next morning to the shop where I work and the mechanic checked the pump and it was not picking up the oil. So we replaced the oil pump to a ls6 and a double roller timing chain because the stock one had some play.
We started the truck oil pressure seemed low but came up to normal in a few min. Drove the the truck around friday night everything seemed fine.

Saturday morning I go to start the truck to go to work and the oil pressure is in the red. I give it a little gas and it comes back up. It stays low right out of the red till the truck warms up then it is fine.

Sunday morning and this morning I started the truck and it chatters for a few sec. till the oil pressure builds then its fine when it warm. This is my DD and I don't want to mess it up so I am parking it till this get this figgured out.

i hate to say this, but i think you already know.
you have to tear it back down and check all seals.
since it started before the new pump install.
i would start with the pick up tube and work my way up
making sure nothing is cloged and every thing is sealed.

I have this on another forum and they are thinking it might be a spun cam bearing?

that's what we thought I might have done when we did my cam install.

Thank god it was just the oil pump. If you do have a spun cam bearing then it looks like it's 6.0 time.

EDIT-I didn't see you had an SS.
EDIT2-Looks like it's 408 time!!

you need to get to the root of the problem before you just throw parts at it.

The timing chains are normally loose or have some play in them, so more than likely that was parts in the wind.

Where in the valley are you? I can take a look at it for you if you would like.

Ya, I knew that the timing chain did not have to be replaced but I figgured why not while we have it apart.

I work in van nuys and live in canoga park. That would be cool but I get out of work late.
