If i were you i would go ahead and get one of comp's or even Crane's new LS1 cams just check out Hot Rod Mag to get the right specs. I believe that one of them helped produce over 500 hp with stock lifters pushrods.

welcome dat.
well...add headers to your exhaust. pacesetters are priced to move and the quality is pretty good. you'll need a bump in gears, 3.90 - 4.10s. also a stall in the 2800-3000 range. definately a good tune from something other than a hypercrap. check the sponsors out, get a dyno tune from one of the shops there in the City, or buy an application like HPTuners or EFI Live.
probably the hardest decision to make is in deciding what cam to get. alot depends on what purpose your truck serves. if its your daily driver and has to be dependable, then something in the 206-218* @.050 range for Intake & Exhaust with a 114LSA would be a good choice. if your wanting to chase down bluecajun, then you'll have to get up where he's at with a 220* @.050 or greater with the 112/114LSA.
or you could throw some sick heads on with a nasty cam up around 228* or so, a 3500 stall, 4.56s, and some sticky tires and really be screaming, but it would prolly be a bitch to drive around town. good luck.
