stock 4l60-e w/ monster rebuild, until i can afford to buy a 4l80-e. and the stock 10 bolt for now, w/a tru trac & 3:73s. my truck only sees city and highway driving.not much off road,it a 2wheel drive. and im tired of these yuppies w/ there titans and tundras blowing the doors off my american made truck! can i get 400 or 450 hp out of a 6.0l with out stroking it.

I would try a 6.0 with L-92 heads, 10.5 compresion ratio, and a good cam with roller rockers. If built right they can get at or over 500 crank HP. For about 450 crank HP you could use LS-6 style heads which are a bit cheaper, but the accesories are what cost on this swap.
4l60 with a monter rebuild starts at $2500 plus convertor.
4L80 used with lowish miles is around $800 average plus convertor. Add a good shift kit, and you'll have transmission better then any 4L60.
Most convertors suitable for you idea start at $800.
Other then that you need some deep gears like 3.73's or 4.11's depending on which size motor you go for, and how steep a convertor you decide to get. You could also try 275/60/17's with a 250 treadware which will help traction but also reduce recripricating weight.

the 6.0l w/ l-92 heads sound better, and the used trans makes it more in my reach. so what cam will match the l-92 heads? then i can match the convertor and gears for the combo.and what intake will work with these heads?
