i'm just want the motor only in my truck, will get the wireing harnes and the pcm,
if i get the trans too, that i will sell to recoupe the money spent.
just not sure on how to get it to work.
i know any 99 to 02 pcm will plug in to my harnes and work.
i don't think the 07 pcm will be plug and play even with the 07 harnes,
i have a 4l60e trans.
first things first, get it and then figure it out while compairing the two togather.

The connectors are different on the older PCM(ECM/TCM). New ones don't have a PCM. The engine and trans now have their own controller so they are not compatable.

dan i really think it is doable.. i am just saying you really should get as much as you can... i work at a gm dealer, and i will help you get whatever you couoldnt...

but remember this was never intended to go into a nbs, so there will be some work involved

LOOKS LIEK THE SMALL TRANS CONTROL MODULE IS LOCATED IN THE CAB DRIVERS SIDE NEAR OR ON THE FUSE BLOCK

GET WHATEVER WIRING YOU CAN FROM UNDERHOOD, INCLUDING MODULES.... THE MORE THE BETTER... EVERYTHING YOU CAN GET WILL MAKE THE SWAP EASIER...

ALSO THE TCASE ON TAHT THING I BELIEVE IS AWD, OR FULL TIME 4WD

add
TAC module . . . it's on the drivers side, next to the break booster
gas pedal - it's electric
motor mounts if they're still good.

There was a guy on here that did a complete L92 swap, there's some really useful stuff in there . . . his screen name was Josh something . . joshluther ?

You should be able to make the engine work with your harness, pcm & a tune. The L92 heads and L76 intake on that engine are being transplanted to Gen 3 engines with at least a 4.0 bore. The knock sensors & crankshaft pos sensor locations on the new engine are moved from the gen 3 positions. You can buy adapter harnesses or extend the wiring in your old harness to make it work. Google the L92 heads & you will find quite a few examples using the L92 heads and the L76 intake on our gen 3 engines.

I have a 2002 K1500HD w/6.0l. I am stroking the engine to 4 in, using forged pistons & rods, w/l92 heads, l76 intake, 39 lb injectors & 02-04 ZO6 cam, w/my 2002 pcm (tuned for the mods).

Hope this helps.
