Never mind the 500rwhp, just make as much torque as you possibly can and you'll care less about the hp number. Small cams are great for making large torque bubbles and that's what pushes heavy trucks around with ease.
I'm not a smog tech but it's my understanding that visual id of the block and head casting numbers is not part of the inspection process.

I have a 4.8 with what 200hp at the wheels?? I would be super happy to have a 408 with 350-400hp. So would you think a 408 with a mild cam could make those kind of numbers? And if not i always have a year older vehicle so i would have some notice as to wen i would have to smog my turck. but how much are engine swaps?
