motor started knocking after WOT pull

well, looks like i am going to buy new pistons. i knocked the bad one off the bench and busted the skirt off one side. i'll grab some measureing equipement and check my deminsions from the inspector at work. anybody know of some decent 4.020 pistons? all i'm seeing is seal power which i'm fine with. i'm thinking at this point i should be looking at flat top pistons to bring me up to 10.5comp

Is that what size your bore is? 4.005 is near factory replacement, just needs a slight hone. 4.030 would have been a good size bore to go with as well from the start if this is a built engine...

bore is 4.020. i have to measure it when i get time. i have sealed power h857cp +50mm pistons in there now.
i'm looking for piston options using factory press pin rods as i don't want to change the entire rotating assembly out to keep this in a lighter budget.
i have found sealed power h1129ct +50mm that looks like it would directly swap out with my current equipement and give me a bump in compression.

i was serious. if it's a temp get back on the road deal, ive seen ALL parts from a top end re-used including head gaskets and bolts. copper cote does a pretty good job. just dont go blowing 5lbs of boost or nitrous at that motor.

lol, never will see boost or nitrous. i will buy some head gaskets.
went over the basics with the inspector on how to properly measure my bores so when i get time i'll get that all checked out.
if i go about replacing the full set of pistons is there much to be gained going to a flat top? i know it should buy me about 1/2 a point compression. what gains does that equate to?
i'm debating on a full set of pistons vs. just buying that one if cards fall right.

so ive been looking all over for pistons. I need some help here. I've have found that my piston is using a .945 pressed pin. newer motors with floating rods use .943 pin and retaining clips.
some pistons are labled as press or floating and come with a .943 pin. this all becomes an issue when I try to find a flat top piston. all I find have .943
if I cannot purchase a single replacement and have to get a set I figure I should just use it as an upgrade so can somebody fill me in on this pin size issue?

Update.
i found a direct replacement piston got it pressed into my rod. i've ordered new rings rod bearings plastigauge set and a few other items.
i've also purchased a set of 650 lift dual springs with titanium retainers. I've also started doing some mild porting and polishing on my heads since this is a good opportunity.
i contacted tick performance on a camshaft and he has a custom profile for my truck. any input before i order. i'm looking to match my cam to my engine and pickup a less aggressive lobe design than my current comp XER style.
his suggestion is. 229/232 .615"/.575" 114+3
My current is. 224/230 .581"/.588" 114
does anybody see or not see the benefits from switching to this cam for my lower compression motor?
