the LTs will definitely wake it up but if i was going through all the trouble of a cam swap i'd throw a real one in there like a 212/218, i've seen alot of people disappointed with an ls6 cam in a N/A truck

your not the only one whos told me that, but im getting a hell of deal on everything. All this stuff was going a co-workers tuck, until he totaled it, so I basically stole evrything. Paid 250 for LTs and ORY, and 400 for new GM ls6cam, comp 7.425 moly push rods, and PAC springs.

lol, thats why you have to have a tune, to turn OFF the rear 02's. All they do is read after-cat temperatures anyway.

And the only reason the ls-6 cam is good is for boost and its price. A used one can easily be picked up for around 100 dollars, I would never EVER buy a new one for 400.

1.You will need to have them tuned out of the ecm.
or
2.I would just find a way to get cats back on and intall the 02's back behind them.

I also have a 4.8L I would like to wake up. It is a 2008 and I have put dual cat back exhaust and a stage 2 AFE intake. They helped a little, but it is still prett gutless. With a LS6 cam fit in mine?? I am getting a tune and EFI Live so the two put together should be benifical, right..
I don't want to sacrifice everyday driveability cause it is my DD..

There are a lot of things you can do depending on money. 25% underdrive-$200,Meziere elec. water pump-$500,roller rockers-$400 and up. A tune is the best was to delete the rear O2 cat sensor, but you can buy an O2 simm that outputs the squarewave the PCM is looking for. The O2 cats do NOT monitor the cat temp. They monitor cat efficiency. The PCM wants to know the hydrocarbons have been reduced by the cat so the amplitude of the waveform of the post cat 02 has to be less than the pre cat 02 sensor.
