ls6 intake manifold?
#1
i have 5.3 motor and was wondering if i could swap the truck manifold with any of the ls6 manifolds like the fast lsx, or factory 5.7-6.0 manifolds? didnt know if there would be any port matching issues with the 5.3 heads or if they would be a direct bolt on with the 5.3. any help would be great

found what i was looking for. now for the next question. is their anything to gain from this swap on engine with full bolt ons and 212/218 cam besides getting rid of the hidious truck manifold?

You will have to change the waterpump to the L92, relocate the idler pulley and trim the alt/ps pump bracket. Also depending on injectors you might have to space them. .............You gotta want it!

I think from everything that I have read that the truck manifolds are just as good as the LS6 if not better for the rpm range and powerband the truck needs. They do look ALOT better though

i have the same view until it proves itself to me. the truck intake is under-rated by everyone IMO.

I think there is a little bit to be gained with the LS6 intake. I think that for the cost of the swap though I'd just get one of the new style truck intakes which flow better and use a bigger throttle body.

Absolutely! The key is the intended rpm range, unlike a passenger car that needs upper rpms. The LS6 is definately better then the truck intake, but the truck intake is better then the LS1. The LS6 will shine on upper rpms (+4000rpms), not what a (street) truck needs.

from my experience so far...truck intake=ls6 intake. shifte same rpm on both intakes within a week and pulled the same times on track both times. maybe the cool weather will let it shine....hopefully
