How was tuning for this cam?

 

Don't be afraid, I am turning my stock bottom end to 6500 with no problems.

 

did you loose much bottom end torque with the ls6 cam? im thinking of doing one in my 5.3 but I tow, so I don't want to loose 1-2000 torque that it has now.

 

I did not lose any bottom end. I still tow my 21ft bassboat every weekend with the truck.

 

kewl... sounds like a good cam for me.

 

dont forget there are different ls6 cams I think they changed in 02 they are a bit more aggressive... atleast on the top end.

Yes there is. I went with the 2001 LS6 cam because I felt it to be more suited to a truck because of the lower lsa.

I keep finding conflicting info as to cam specs, these are off the gmpartsdirect.com website. Some info I have shows the 01 cam used in the LS2, others show the 02 cam was used. The LS7 cam is even higher lift, not even the same (but then it's in a 7.0L 427ci engine). Either way, both of those cams were designed with emissions in mind and I know several guys that have one or the other in their trucks and like 'em. We just started the sniffer test here in Austin this year so it's something to think about. I'm still leaning toward the 01 cam when I get the money & time to do it.
