Does anyone know anybody that has done this swap so I can ask them a few questions? Or can anyone point tward a shop that has done it. I figured this forum would be my best bet for knowledgeable people on this subject. Any help will be much appreciated.

i am working on a project like yours its kinda a frankenstein.... 1999 2dr tahoe.... i am using a 411 ecu and harness from a 2001 tahoe... i used a lingerfeler convertor box for the 58x to 24x crank and cam sensor (trg-002).... I am using l92 (truck intake) and ls9 cam with 4x timing chain sprocket.... I have all the parts just waiting on my machine shop to finish up so I can finish up....

Nice, sounds like a good combo. I actually switched gears and went with a forged piston TMS 370ci short block, Pat G custom cam, l92 intake, 90mm silver blade throttle body and a set of TEA trick flow GenX 255 ls3 heads milled to 64cc for 11:1 comp. I'm hoping to make some decent power for a daily driver rcsb.

Just curious about the LS3 type head, intake, I assume 4 bolt throttle body plus a good cam.

I have a high high mile LQ9 and it could use a rebuild or at least a valve job but why not swap on the rectangular port heads with a newer truck style intake n bigger TB n cam while I'm there.

Curious if the sensors swap over and what problems you ran into.

I also thought about a whole LY6/ l76 truck engine swap do the 58x to 24x conversion and delete the cylinder deactivation put a nice mild rumble 6000 rpm cam.

The reason for a whole swap would be since my engine has 320,000 on it.

Thanks

Yea all the sensors swapped over. I deleted my egr that sits on the old truck manifold since the lS3 intake i have doesnt have one. The TB i got off ebay is a 90mm that both my factory sensors on it worked. umm the map sensor i had to extend the wires as on the new ls3 intake it sits at the front more. I had to get injector sensor converters to go from the ls3 injector connector to lq9 they are about 90 bucks. As for the engine, it pulls like a sob up top of course but i am having trouble with the tune. My tuner is an idiot so i had to buy HP tuners and work through it myself.
