Ls2 timing dampener instead of timing chain tensioner l92
#1
Hi .
my apologies if this has been brought up before , got my cam in and I was alittle confused when trying to put the dampener in , I ended up putting the tensioner in instead of the dampener as I thought it wouldn’t work but I guess it does , my concerns are : will the chain have slack ? And if so is that ok? .. Is anyone running the ls2 damnoner instead of the chain tensioner ? And if so how’s it doing ? I know when I saw my stick tensioner the right plastic tab broke , I don’t want that to happen again, wonder why gm put such a cheap part in ..
i appreciate and input thank you

Also .. when I was working on the new oil pump and was looking at the oil pick up tube it looked like it could be safely modified to where if you grounded out the tab you could flip the mounting flange to use the top hole ? Has anyone done this ? No issues? I mean the other hole on the oil pump has threwds to take a screw ..
magazine my apologies if this has been addressed
