ls1 torque plate.

Default ls1 torque plate.

i read somewhere that a torque plate for a ford small block will work on a ls1. anybody know any better. i'm in marryland now and i'm trying to find someone to hone my ls1 .007 for my stroker kit.

The 4.6 mod motor torque plate should work for that.

the mod motor i thought they use a ford sb. a few searches over on tech and thats what i came up with anyway.

I was told the 4.6 mod motor torque plate was the same, but that was a couple years ago. The guy was showing me the torque plate for the mod motor.

Of course he was an idiot... hmm...

i guess i'll just take the block down there and see how it looks. then i'll know for sure lol. it seems to be hard to find a local anywhere that does ls1 stuff. but if i ship it somewhere i might as well just buy a new block that is done.

Any shop can do it. It's honing a block, it's really not different from any other block out there. Some people need to know that a shop 'specializes' in LSx stuff or they don't go there. I don't understand why.

i just want to make sure he has a deck plate to torque on before the hone job.

A SBF plate will definatley work. As long as the shop knows how far you can bore it out to, then there's no issues...right?

I would give them the pistons from the kit, let them measure them first then hone the block after measuring the pistons.
